  • Jonas “Trashy” Andersen - Jungle
  • Chres “Sencux” Laursen - Mid
  • Kristoffer "Krislund" Pedersen‏ - ADC
  • Laurent “BarneyD” Baiverlin - Support

Im the jungler of Reason Gaming, Trashy, who just got disqualified from Coke League (The amateur tournament riot is hosting)

So yesterday we were supposed to play the last Play In match against SGC at 20:00. Everything was fine until 5 minutes before the game was about to start. As i was watching LCS my stream closed, and my browser didn't work anymore, and my client disconnected. So because i couldn't connect to the client before 20:20, we got disqualified(I literally tried everything to make it work again). We all was so down, our dreams of playing in the coke league was crushed, and I felt horrible about letting my team down.

At 20:55 my internet started working again normally. As i was pissed i started researching what happened to my internet. I called my provider(local provider - having around 10k users), and they told me there was a problem with the main firewall, and i explained him the situation. Later on he called me back, and they could report the problem as a DDOS. Coincidence? I dont think so.

Some days earlier Riot sent all the players who were going to participating in Coke League some tools to secure their own computer from not getting DDOSed, which i, and my teammates follow step by step. So my point with this post is, HOW are we supposed to prepare for this to happen. Simply my provider got DDOSed, which has been proved by themselves. We followed all the tools Riot sent us. I'm not blaming the DDOSer, our opponent or anyone else. It happens, just as terror happens(strong comparison, i know). But Riot has to respond to this, else the amateur scene will be even more dominated by DDOS. The worst feeling is that we didn't even have the chance to prove ourselves as a team.

My request to Riot is: IF this happens in such ways as it happened to us(We had no chance at all to prepare for this). They need to let the team atleast have a chance of playing the match. It could be done by giving a time for the match only for the teams, so no one knows when the game is getting played. I believe that Riots intension with the Coke League is that the best amateur teams will compete in their tournament, which isn't the case if DDOS is the way to victory.
