Gambit Gaming har præsteret under niveau i de seneste uger i det europæiske LCS. Især i sidste uge skuffede de bravt, da de tabte alle fire kampe i superugen. Ledelsen har sidenhen været ude med en officiel udtalelse om deres situation, hvori de fortæller om holdets problemer og udfordringer.
Der forklares, at holdets synergi ødelægges af dårlig kommunikation og koordination mellem spillerne. Helt specifikt udpeges Evgeny "Darien" Mazaev og Danil "Diamond" Reshetnikov, som ikke har forbedret deres spil de sidste syv uger:
Our biggest problem right now is an underwhelming team synergy that stems from poor shot calling and lack of coordination between lanes and our jungler during the laning phase. In the current meta game, where lane swaps and smooth rotations are of a paramount importance, individual performance alone cannot secure you victories.

Darien and Diamond are currently struggling to have an impact on our performance. Due to the fact that they didn’t step up their play over the course of the past seven weeks, we are currently considering moving both of them to a substitute position and replacing them with new players.
Få dage efter deres udtalelse skete der ændringer af holdets startfemmer, eftersom Jakub "Kubon" Turewicz og Jean-Victor "loulex" Burgevin midlertidigt vil overtage pladserne i henholdsvis top og jungle:
As we have mentioned in our previous statement, we are looking to put two our players, Diamond and Darien, to a substitute position and to replace them with two other players. Our only concern was, whether we can find eligible substitutes. Having considered all our options, we decided to recruit Jakub "Kubon" Turewicz and Jean-Victor "loulex" Burgevin to play for us during the 8th week of the Summer Split. The decision, whether they will remain in our starting line-up after this stage, will be made after we conclude our games against Supa Hot Crew and Copenhagen Wolves.
Det betyder derfor, at holdet i ottende uge af LCS vil benytte sig af disse fem spillere:
Jakub "Kubon" Turewicz
Jean-Victor "loulex" Burgevin- Sebastian "niQ" Robak
Evgeny "Genja" Andryushin- Edward "Edward" Abgaryan
Evgeny "Darien" Mazaev og Danil "Diamond" Reshetnikov bliver dog ikke smidt på porten. De sættes på bænken for at blive motiveret til at forbedre sig, da de ikke brændte nok for deres plads på holdet:
To be clear, both Diamond and Darien remain in our organization at least until the end of this competitive circuit and both of them have a chance to return to our starting line-up. Since many of you are questioning this move, we would like to state one of the main reasons why we went through with this change. Diamond and Darien weren’t committed enough to improving our team synergy, and it was hard for our analyst to reach out to them to affect their play and in-game decisions. We aim to remedy this problem by trying out players, who are more motivated to achieve higher results.
